Adding, removing, and rearranging pages

Use the Pages tab to add/delete standard or master pages, assign master pages to standard pages, and rearrange standard pages using drag-and-drop. You can also change page orientations.

The tab displays master pages in the upper Master Pages window (shown collapsed) and standard publication pages in the lower Pages window.

The PagePlus tab pages pagemgr Adding, removing, and rearranging pages Page Manager button provides additional options, such as duplicating a particular page or adding/deleting multiple pages.

To add a single page:

  1. On the Pages tab, click once to select a page in the Pages window. The thumbnail that’s shown as “selected” is independent of the page you’re currently working on. To work on a particular page, double-click its thumbnail.

  1. Click PagePlus tab pages add Adding, removing, and rearranging pages Add to add a page (or master page) before the one selected in the window.

    To add a new page at the end of the publication, deselect all pages by clicking in the neutral region of the lower window, then click the Add button.

To add master pages:

For master pages, the above procedure applies but within the Master Pages window.

For more page/master page insertion options:

  1. Click PagePlus tab pages pagemgr Adding, removing, and rearranging pages Page Manager on the Page context toolbar, Hintline or Pages tab.

    Select Page… from the Insert menu.
    – or -
    Navigate to your last page (or master page), then click the PagePlus tbr hintline nextpage Adding, removing, and rearranging pages Next Page button on the Hintline.

Any of the above actions will display the Page Manager for pages or master pages you’re working on.

  1. When inserting a standard page, select the Insert tab and specify the following:

  2. The number of pages to add

  3. The page before (or after) which pages should be added

  4. Which master page to assign to the new page

  5. Whether to clone the structure of a particular page by copying its layers. You can also specify whether or not to copy objects and/or master pages from the source page. To duplicate the source page exactly, check Copy layers from, Copy objects, and Include master pages.

    When adding a master page, select the
    Add tab and specify:

To delete a single page/master page:

  1. On the Pages tab, select the page (or master page) to delete on the appropriate window by clicking its thumbnail.

  2. Click the PagePlus tab pages delete Adding, removing, and rearranging pages Remove button.

For more page/master page deletion options:

  1. Click the PagePlus tab pages pagemgr Adding, removing, and rearranging pages Page Manager on the Page context toolbar, Hintline or Pages tab.
    – or -
    Select Page… from the Insert menu.

  2. In the dialog, select the Delete tab and specify the following:

  3. The number of pages to delete

  4. The page after which pages should be deleted

To rearrange pages:

  • On the Pages tab, in the lower Pages window, drag a page thumbnail to a new location in the page sequence.

  • You can’t rearrange master pages, since their order makes no difference.
