Saving your own templates
Once you’ve settled on a particular layout, you can save the layout as a template to be used as a basis for other publications. You can save any PagePlus publication as a template (*.ppx) file. When opening a saved template file, PagePlus automatically opens an untitled copy, leaving the original template intact.
To save a publication as a template:
-
Choose Save As… from the File menu. Under “Save as type:” click to select the PagePlus Template (*.ppx) option. By default, the template will try to be saved to a My Templates folder so that your templates will be accessible for future use.
-
Enter a file name and click Save.
To open a template file:
-
Launch PagePlus, or choose New from the File menu and select New from Startup Wizard….
-
Select Start New Publication from the menu options.
-
Click the My Templates folder in the left-hand pane of the dialog.
-
Select the saved template you wish to use.
-
Click OK.
-
You can also open a template from the Open button on the Standard toolbar (See Opening an existing publication).
-
You may wish to transfer your PagePlus X4 custom settings to your new version of PagePlus. See Importing PagePlus X4 settings.
